Glauco Venier moved his first steps as a musician within classical and rock music. After getting his degree at the conservatory and specializing in the US, he started his intense artistic career. He worked together with some of the most valuable jazz musicians, performing in successful concerts all over the world. Together with Norma Winstone he recorded three CDs for ECM label, getting a nomination to the Grammy Awards. He played with her in some of the most prestigious theatres of the world (Vienna’s Musikverein, London’s Barbican, Paris’ Olympia, Venice’s La Fenice, just to mention a few) and took part in some of the most important festivals, like the London Jazz Festival. MINIATURES is his work for solo piano and percussions, published by ECM (June 2016). Throughout his career Glauco Venier has published over twenty records plus collaborations with several artists. He recorded for Universal and Schott labels and for Rai, Orf and BBC. With WDR (German radio-TV) Symphony Orchestra and big band he recorded "Antiche danze" (Ancient Dances), a tribute to the traditional music of Friuli - his region -, featuring arrangements by Michael Abene and Michele Corcella. That same project, renamed SIMPHONIKA , was the opening event of 2012 Mittelfest at Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine (an audio-video by Artesuono recording studios of this concert came out in 2014. Glauco Venier currently teaches at the conservatory in Udine.
